Muskoka Lake Motors is a growing independent automotive repair shop in Gravenhurst, and we're looking for an Automotive Service Technician to join our team.

We're a small shop with plans to grow, and we're looking for the right person to grow with us. This position is ideal for someone who can be handed a vehicle and a work order, determine what needs to be done, and complete the repair properly without needing constant supervision.

We value quality workmanship over rushing jobs out the door. We want repairs done the first time properly, and customers treated fairly.

Responsibilities

- Diagnose, repair and maintain a wide range of cars and light trucks
- Perform brakes, steering and suspension, wheel bearings, cooling system repairs, maintenance and general mechanical work
- Diagnose electrical and drivability concerns
- Perform vehicle inspections and clearly document findings
- Use modern scan tools, repair information and shop management software
- Communicate additional repair needs or concerns found during service
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Help with shop improvements, equipment maintenance, organization and other projects during slower periods

What We're Looking For
- Ontario 310S Automotive Service Technician licence preferred
- Strong general mechanical ability
- Able to work independently and take ownership of a job
- Comfortable with computers, scan tools and modern diagnostic equipment
- Good electrical and diagnostic problem-solving skills
- Attention to detail and pride in your workmanship
- Curious and willing to figure out things you haven't seen before
- Valid driver's licence





We're especially interested in someone who likes building and fixing things outside of automotive work too. If you're the kind of person who has built, restored, modified, fabricated, wired, programmed or otherwise messed around with something just because you thought it would be cool to make it work, we want to hear about it.

Cars are the job, but we're building a shop full of people who like figuring things out. During slower periods, that can mean shop improvements, equipment projects, fabrication, organization, learning new systems or occasionally building something completely unrelated to fixing a customer's car.
