We are opening a new depot in Lloydminster and are looking for a reliable, hardworking 5 Ton Truck Driver / Freight Dock Worker to join our growing team.
This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys both driving and working in a freight environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for picking up and delivering freight, as well as working on the dock to load, unload, sort, and prepare shipments.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing operation with room for advancement and increased responsibility as the Lloydminster depot develops.
What You'll Do
- Unload trailers in the mornings and load in specific delivery order
- Pick up and deliver freight safely and efficiently to customers and other locations
- Operate a 5-ton truck for local and regional freight deliveries
- Load and unload freight at the dock and at customer locations
- Operate a forklift and other material-handling equipment as required
- Inspect freight for damage and verify shipments before loading and after delivery
- Properly secure freight to prevent shifting or damage during transportation
- Complete required paperwork, delivery documents, and freight records accurately
- Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
- Communicate with dispatch, customers, and warehouse staff to ensure pickups and deliveries are completed on time
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized truck and dock area
- Assist with basic vehicle troubleshooting and maintenance when required
- Follow all company, workplace,
and transportation safety procedures
What We're Looking For
- Experience picking up and delivering freight is strongly preferred
- Experience operating a 5-ton truck or similar commercial vehicle
- A valid licence appropriate for the vehicle being operated
- Class 1 licence is a strong asset, but is not required
- Previous freight dock or warehouse experience is an asset
- Forklift experience and certification is an asset
- Good understanding of freight handling and load securement
- Strong attention to detail when handling freight and documentation
- Safe driving habits and a strong commitment to workplace safety
- Reliable, punctual, and willing to work as part of a team
- Physically capable of loading, unloading, and handling freight
- Comfortable working both behind the wheel and on the dock
