We are seeking a reliable, organized, and detail-oriented Accountant/Bookkeeper to join our team. The successful candidate will manage day-to-day accounting operations, maintain accurate financial records, and assist with financial reporting and administrative accounting tasks.

Key Responsibilities

- Handle day-to-day accounts payable and accounts receivable activities.
- Record and process invoices, payments, expenses, and other financial transactions.
- Complete regular bank and credit card reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
- Maintain the company’s general ledger and prepare journal entries as required.
- Process driver payroll accurately and on time, including reviewing driver hours, mileage, trips, pay rates, deductions, and other applicable payroll adjustments.
- Verify driver payroll information and resolve discrepancies or payroll-related issues promptly.
- Prepare financial statements, accounting reports, and other financial summaries.
- Monitor outstanding invoices, customer balances, vendor payments, and account activity.
- Assist with budget preparation, financial planning, and tax-related documentation.
- Maintain well-organized and up-to-date accounting files and records.
- Review financial information for errors, identify discrepancies, and make necessary corrections.




- Provide support with other accounting and administrative duties as needed.

Qualifications & Skills

- Previous experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or a similar role.
- Hands-on experience with QuickBooks or comparable accounting software.
- Solid knowledge of accounting and bookkeeping practices and principles.
- Experience managing AP, AR, payroll, and account reconciliations.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
- Solid communication, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience working in the trucking, transportation or related industry is considered an asset.
