Company Overview:

Our client is seeking an energetic, curious, and highly organized Accountant to join its growing finance function in Edmonton. This is an execution-focused role for someone who enjoys being close to the work, takes pride in accuracy, and is excited to learn directly from experienced senior leaders.

Our client is a health technology and healthcare solutions provider improving workflows, access to care, and quality of service.

You will receive hands-on training and mentorship from the CFO and work directly with the CEO. The role also offers exposure to the broader investment group and potential opportunities to contribute across other portfolio companies over time. This is an ideal opportunity for an Accountant with two to four years of experience who is technology-first, passionate about the craft of accounting, and eager to build broader capabilities in a high-growth environment.

What You'll Do:

- Execute day-to-day accounting activities across accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank and balance-sheet reconciliations, journal entries, and the general ledger.
- Support accurate and timely month-end and year-end close activities.
- Prepare financial statements, working papers, schedules, and reports for review by senior finance leadership and external stakeholders.
- Maintain organized, complete, and audit-ready accounting records and supporting documentation.
- Assist with project and cost accounting, including transaction coding, cost tracking, reconciliations, and reporting.
- Support tax, audit,



and compliance requirements by coordinating documentation and responding to information requests.
- Use accounting data to identify discrepancies, resolve issues, and highlight opportunities to improve accuracy and efficiency.
- Explore and apply AI, automation, and modern accounting technology to streamline workflows, reduce manual work, and strengthen financial processes.
- Partner directly with the CFO, CEO, and other senior leaders on priority finance initiatives and special projects.
- Contribute wherever needed within a small, fast-moving team where priorities can evolve quickly.

What You'll Bring:

- 2 to 4 years of hands-on accounting experience in a full-cycle environment.
- A diploma or degree in accounting, finance, business, or a related field.
- A CPA designation is not required; progress toward a CPA is considered an asset.
- High energy, genuine passion for accounting, and a strong desire to keep learning.
- Exceptional organization, attention to detail, follow-through, and comfort managing deadlines.
- A curious, proactive mindset and the confidence to ask thoughtful questions.
- A technology-first approach, including enthusiasm for using AI and automation to improve accounting processes.




- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and comfort learning new accounting platforms; Q360 or similar ERP experience is an asset.
- Clear, skilled communication skills and enthusiasm for working directly with senior leadership.
- A hands-on, team-oriented approach and willingness to roll up your sleeves in a growing entrepreneurial company.
