You’ll join an established independent CPA firm in St. Marys, taking ownership of a portfolio of owner-managed businesses and individuals across accounting, tax, planning and business advisory.

It’s deliberately broad. One client might need help with a corporate tax issue, another with financing, another with succession or retirement planning, and another simply needs somebody who understands their business well enough to spot the problem before they do.

What you’ll be doing:

- Manage a portfolio of privately owned and owner-managed business clients
- Oversee compilation engagements from start to completion
- Review financial statements and year-end working papers
- Review T2 corporate tax returns
- Review T1 personal tax returns
- Review trust and partnership tax work
- Identify tax planning opportunities




- Work directly with clients on accounting and tax matters
- Advise business owners around financial reporting and business decisions
- Support clients with financing, business changes and longer-term planning
- Review work prepared by junior and intermediate staff
- Coach and develop team members
- Manage workflow and deadlines across your portfolio
- Resolve more complex accounting and tax issues
- Build long-term relationships with clients
- Work closely with the Partners on more complex files and advisory matters
- Contribute to the continued development of the practice

What they’re looking for:

- CPA designation
- 6+ years of Canadian CPA firm/public accounting experience
- Manager-level experience or someone already operating at that level
- Strong compilation and year-end accounting experience
- Broad corporate and personal tax knowledge
- Trust and partnership tax exposure beneficial
- Tax planning experience
- Strong owner-managed business experience
- Comfortable reviewing staff work
- Experience mentoring and developing junior accountants
- Strong client relationship skills
- Able to take ownership of files rather than simply prepare them
- CaseWare and Canadian tax software experience
- QuickBooks experience practical
- Previous Canadian CPA firm/public accounting experience required
