M&J; Total Transport & Rigging is a specialized heavy haul and rigging company working throughout Canada. We're looking for a detail-oriented Accounting Technician to join our finance team.

Job Summary The Accounting Technician will primarily support the Accounts Payable function while also assisting with general administrative and accounting tasks. This is a great opportunity for someone who is organized, numbers-focused, and comfortable juggling a variety of day-to-day financial and office duties.

Key Responsibilities

Accounts Payable

- Maintain accounts payable email
- Match invoices to purchase orders and proof of delivery documents
- Assist in the preparation of payment runs
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies
- Respond to vendor inquiries
- Maintain organized, up-to-date AP records and filing

General Accounting & Administrative Support

- Support data entry and maintenance of the general ledger
- Help prepare basic financial reports and summaries
- Assist with expense report processing
- Provide general administrative support to the finance/accounting department




- Assist with document preparation for audits as required
- Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

- Diploma or certificate in Accounting, Bookkeeping, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent work experience)
- 1–3 years of experience in an accounts payable or general accounting/administrative role preferred
- Working knowledge of accounting and AP processes
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel; experience with Sage and QuickBooks accounting software an asset
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Positive organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team

Pay: $40,000.00-$45,000.00 per year
