The Role: Reporting to the Senior Manager of HSE, the HSE Advisor is responsible for providing support to operations, guiding site staff with respect to company and client safety practices, policies, procedures, and legislative obligations.

Accountabilities

- Investigateincidents,nearmisses,andhazardousconditions
- Assistwithauditprocessandrequirements
- Workwithmanagementandstaffonidentifyinghazards
- ProvideHSEoncallsupportasassigned
- Encourageandpromotesafeworkculture
- KnowledgeandimplementationofrequiredreportingproceduresrelatingtoOH&S; Legislation and WCB Regulations as well as clients’ procedures
- ProvideassistancewithinternalHSEtrainingandmentorship
- Process,co-ordinateandmaintainemployeeHSErecords
- Participateintoolboxmeetings,safetymeetings,clientHSEmeetings–asrequired, emergency response planning, and field inspections
- PrepareandpresentHSEmeetingtopics
- AssistwiththedevelopmentofJobHazardAssessment
- MaintainandreportallsiteHSEdocumentationasrequired
- Maintainconsistent&professionaldecisiveness;,attendance,andpunctuality
- Allotherdutiesasrequired Requirements:

- Postsecondaryeducationinarelatedfield
- Ticketsrequired:CSO,StandardFirstAid,H2SAlive,WHMIS
- ValidClass5licensewithcleanDriver’sAbstract
- Minimumof5years’experienceinaconstructionandminingenvironment
- Excellentpresentationskills
- Advancedwrittenandoralcommunicationskills
- Demonstratedabilitytotrain,coach,evaluate,anddevelopemployees
- Adaptableandenergetic

- Strongworkethicandpositiveteamattitude Schedule:
- Monday – Friday, 8-hour days, 40 hours/week, varying start times. The shift can change, with applicable notice, based on operational effectiveness.
