We are seeking a motivated Articling Student to join our team for an 8 month term beginning in 2027. The Successful candidate will be exposed to all areas of the law firm's practice, including litigation and solicitor work. Mentorship and guidance will be provided by the articling principal. This position is mainly remote. The Articling Student may be required in person 1-2 days a month.
Duties
- Conducting legal research
- Drafting legal documents such as Statement of Claims, Statement of Defences, Affidavit of Documents, Mediation Briefs, Legal Factums and more
- Shadow articling principal at court appearances and client meetings
-Involvement on client files, both litigation and solicitor related
- Collaborate with team members on special projects
-Attain experience on real estate transaction files and corporate law work
- Shadow experienced professionals to gain insight into the industry
Experience
Required
- Current enrollment in an Ontario law school
- Excellent communication and writing skills
- Proficiency in Acrobat Adobe and Word
Nice-to-have:
- Previous internship or work experience in a related field
- Knowledge of basic research methods
