Overview

West-Tech Finishing Inc. is seeking a full-time, on-site Assistant General Manager to support the daily operations of our Vaughan manufacturing facility.

This is a hands-on manufacturing leadership position working closely with the General Manager to coordinate departments, monitor operational performance, support employees, and help ensure the facility operates efficiently and effectively.

We are looking for an experienced manufacturing skilled with a strong background in operations, production, or plant leadership. Experience within aerospace, defence, metal finishing, machining, or another highly regulated manufacturing environment is strongly preferred.

The successful candidate must also have familiarity with Nadcap requirements and Canada’s Controlled Goods Program.

Key Responsibilities

- Support daily operations and department coordination.
- Prepare reports, schedules, meeting agendas, minutes, and action plans.
- Monitor performance targets, budgets, inventory, customer feedback, and operational issues.
- Assist with employee supervision, onboarding, training, and performance follow-up.
- Coordinate routine communication with customers, vendors, and internal departments.
- Help ensure company policies, safety requirements, procedures, and compliance tasks are followed.
- Handle routine customer and staff escalations.
- Act on behalf of the General Manager when required and within delegated authority.
- Track improvement initiatives and ensure action items are completed.

Required Qualifications

- Strong previous experience in manufacturing operations, production management, plant supervision, or a similar manufacturing leadership role.
- Demonstrated experience supervising employees and coordinating day-to-day manufacturing activities.
- Familiarity with Nadcap requirements and working within a regulated quality environment.




- Familiarity with Canada’s Controlled Goods Program and related compliance requirements.
- Strong organizational, communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple departments, priorities, and operational issues in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Experience using ERP, production management, or manufacturing information systems.
- Strong general computer and reporting skills.

Preferred Candidates Candidates with the following backgrounds will be strongly considered:

- Aerospace or defence manufacturing.
- Anodizing, plating, metal finishing, or surface treatment.
- Precision machining or advanced manufacturing.
- Experience overseeing manufacturing operations or assisting with plant management.
- Experience working within AS9100, ISO 9001, Nadcap, or similar quality management systems.
- Experience managing production schedules, inventory, budgets, employees, and operational performance.
- Recent graduates with relevant education and meaningful manufacturing, operations, co-op, internship, or leadership experience who demonstrate strong potential to grow into the role.

Employment Requirement

- The successful candidate will be required to complete and provide a satisfactory police background check as a condition of employment.

Pay: $80,000.00-$100,000.00 per year
