Job Overview:

Flavours of India – The Viewpoint is Kamloops' most-reviewed restaurant (3,100+ Google reviews), with a full-service dining room, banquet hall, and catering operation. We're growing and need a hands-on leader who can run the floor independently and take shift-coverage stress off the owner's plate.

The Role

We're hiring a full-time Assistant Manager to open and close the restaurant, run day-to-day floor operations, and manage the front-of-house team with minimal oversight. Our current staff are mostly students with limited daytime availability, so this role exists to give us reliable, consistent coverage and real leadership on the floor every day.

What you'll do

- Open and/or close the restaurant per checklist standards
- Run the floor during service — manage covers, pacing, and guest issues in real time
- Supervise and schedule front-of-house staff (servers, hosts)
- Step in on banquet/catering event days to coordinate service
- Handle cash-out, POS reconciliation, and shift reporting
- Train new servers and enforce service standards
- Be the go-to decision-maker on shift when the owner isn't on-site





What we're looking for

- 2+ years of restaurant supervisory or management experience (full-service preferred)
- Comfortable running a shift solo — confident, calm under pressure
- Strong communicator who can manage a team of mostly student staff around school schedules
- Available for both opening and closing shifts, including weekends
- Experience with POS systems and basic scheduling
- Indian/South Asian cuisine or hospitality experience an asset, not required
