Automotive Service Advisor Job Overview
Genuine Automotive Service is looking for a motivated, energetic, and automotive-minded Service Advisor to join our young, dynamic, and growing team.
The ideal candidate has a strong interest in the automotive industry, good communication skills, and a willingness to learn. Previous Service Advisor or dealership experience is an asset, but we are also open to candidates with limited experience who have a strong automotive background, good mechanical knowledge, and the right attitude to learn and grow with our team.
Experience with European vehicles and automotive diagnostics is a strong asset, but training and support will be provided to the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet customers professionally and determine their vehicle concerns and service needs.
- Work with technicians to understand vehicle concerns and determine required repairs.
- Prepare accurate repair and maintenance estimates, including parts and labour.
- Present and explain estimates and repair recommendations to customers clearly and professionally.
- Obtain customer authorization and communicate any changes to estimates before additional work is performed.
- Coordinate communication between customers, technicians, and management.
- Recommend necessary repairs and preventative maintenance based on vehicle condition.
- Identify, price, and order automotive parts accurately and efficiently.
- Monitor repair progress and keep customers updated throughout the service process.
- Recommend additional services or repairs when appropriate.
- Process customer payments and maintain accurate records.
- Follow up with customers after service to ensure customer satisfaction and build long-term relationships.
Qualifications & Experience
- Excellent spoken and written English is required. Clear and professional communication with customers and technicians is essential.
- Previous Automotive Service Advisor or dealership experience is an asset.
- Automotive technician or mechanical experience is an asset.
- Entry-level candidates with strong automotive knowledge and a willingness to learn are welcome to apply.
- Strong interest in automotive repair and vehicle technology.
- European vehicle experience is a strong asset.
- Good understanding of automotive repair and diagnostics.
- Ability to learn how to prepare and present professional repair estimates.
- Excellent customer-service and communication skills.
- Positive, energetic, and team-oriented attitude.
- Ability to multitask and stay organized in a rapid-paced workplace.
- Strong willingness to learn and develop new skills.
