JOB DUTIES

· Carrying out vehicle inspections on used vehicles to assess mechanical condition, identify defects, and ensure compliance with dealership quality standards.

· Performing pre-delivery inspections (PDI) to manufacturer standards for new Volkswagen vehicles.

· Perform scheduled maintenance such as oil changes, tune-ups, engine adjustments, lubrication, etc. in accordance with Volkswagen regulations.

· Conducting complex repairs on Volkswagen engines, turbocharges, timing belts, suspensions, electronics, and control modules.

· Diagnosis and repair of all Volkswagen Brand vehicles, including Gas, Diesel and EV, and technical documentation of all work performed.

· Performing setup, calibration, and basic settings for driver assistance systems, including radar sensors, front/rear cameras, lane-keeping, and parking assistance.

· Ordering parts for repairs, coordinating with Parts Department for availability, checking parts against estimate, and ensuring parts are ordered and received.





· Assist service advisors to ensure that customers are regularly apprised of the current situation and to explain completed repairs to customers.

· Assist in training of apprentice technicians.

REQUIREMENTS

· British Columbia Driver’s License (or ability to obtain)

· Red Seal Certification as an Automotive Service Technician

· At least 4 years of related work experience in the automotive industry, including:

o Experience with high-voltage battery vehicles.

o Technical understanding of parts, fluids, technical manuals, and warranty manuals.

o In-depth knowledge of mechanical, electrical, fuel, safety, and other systems in Gas, Diesel and Electric Vehicles.

o Ability to maintain tools in a proper state of repair.

o Knowledge of health and safety regulations and the ability to detect and report safety issues to the Safety Committee or Service Manager.

o Ability to use Volkswagen’s provided computer systems.

High Voltage certification is considered a strong asset.

Pay: $36.00-$50.00 per hour
