The Social by 01 is a new premium barbershop and social space opening in Pickering. We’re creating a modern environment where talented barbers can deliver great service, build their personal brands and grow a loyal clientele.
We’re currently looking for motivated barbers to join our six-station shop. Opportunities are available through either a commission-based arrangement or a fixed weekly chair rental, depending on experience and fit.
What We Provide
Each barber receives a spacious, dedicated station measuring approximately 7 ft. × 6 ft., including:
- Professional barber chair
- Large mirror
- Husky 27-inch tool cabinet
- Anti-fatigue floor mat
- High-speed Wi-Fi
- Hot-towel equipment and service
- Regular shop cleaning
- Customer and staff parking
- Mini-fridge and lounge access
- Pool table and social area
- Access to exotic vehicles and unique shop features for social-media content
- Promotion through The Social by 01’s website and social-media platforms
- Individual profile and booking access through Square Appointments
Barbers are responsible for supplying their own professional tools and personal products.
Responsibilities
- Provide consistent, high-quality haircuts and grooming services
- Maintain a clean, sanitized and organized workstation
- Deliver a welcoming and professional customer experience
- Manage appointments and availability responsibly
- Arrive on time and communicate professionally with clients
- Help maintain a positive and respectful shop environment
- Create or participate in social-media content when comfortable
What We’re Looking For
- Previous barbering or hairstyling experience
- Strong fading, blending, lineup and scissor-work skills
- Professional portfolio or social-media page showcasing your work
- Excellent customer-service and communication skills
- Reliable, motivated and comfortable working independently
- Ability to build and maintain strong client relationships
- Existing clientele is an asset but not mandatory
- Appropriate licences or certifications where required
Experience with services such as beard grooming, perms, hair colouring, designs or textured hair is considered an asset.
Compensation and Schedule
- Commission-based and fixed weekly chair-rental opportunities available
- Flexible availability and scheduling
- Specific rates and terms will be discussed based on experience, clientele and preferred arrangement
