Job Overview

We are seeking an energetic and friendly Barista to join Lumsden's very first drive thru coffee shop! In this role, you will be the face of our establishment, creating a great experience for every customer while preparing and serving fun new coffee beverages. Your enthusiasm and attention to detail will ensure each customer leaves satisfied and eager to return.

This position offers an exciting prospect to become part of Lumsden history within a vibrant, fast-paced setting. Paid training is provided, and your contributions will directly everything about our new little coffee shop!

We are also looking for management to handle inventory and scheduling!

Responsibilities

- Prepare and serve a variety of coffee, tea, specialty drinks, and food items with precision and care
- Operate POS (Point of Sale) systems such as Micros POS for order processing and cash handling
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area, including food preparation stations and dining spaces
- Ensure food safety standards are consistently met through proper handling, storage, and sanitation practices
- Manage cash register transactions accurately, including cash handling and basic math calculations for change




- Provide exceptional customer service by greeting guests warmly, taking orders efficiently, and addressing inquiries or concerns promptly
- Assist in food preparation tasks as needed to support smooth service flow during busy periods

Skills

- Previous barista experience or food service experience in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of POS systems like Micros POS for efficient order processing
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly, positive attitude
- Excellent time management to handle multiple orders quickly without sacrificing quality
- Basic math skills for cash handling, making change, and order calculations
- Understanding of food safety protocols and proper food handling procedures
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a lively setting
