The Stollery Children’s Hospital is the primary acute care centre for children in the Edmonton Area and referral center for the Western Canadian Heart Network (WCCHN). Within the Stollery is the Pediatric Cardiology Clinic which specializes in the diagnosis and follow-up of children with congenital or acquired cardiac disease from birth to 18 years of age. The Pediatric Cardiology clinic is seeking an experienced and agile Diagnostic Sonographer I to join their team of professionals. The Diagnostic Sonographer I (DSI) - Pediatric Cardiac position reports to the Unit Manager of the Pediatric Cardiology Clinic, ECG Lab and Echocardiogram Lab and is responsible for performing Fetal and Pediatric Echocardiographic examinations. This individual plays an integral role in the echocardiographic diagnostic process in the Cardiology Department. The DSI will be required to travel by air and/or ground transportation to work at outreach clinics that our Pediatric Cardiology program supports. Completion of extended diploma from an accredited ultrasound program or completion of certification in Diagnostic Sonography from an accredited program.Description:As a Diagnostic Sonographer I, you will perform a variety of standardized and complex ultrasound services for the diagnosis and tracking of disease and pathology. Your responsibilities include preparing the patient for examination, reviewing patient history, explaining procedures,



obtaining ultrasound images of diagnostic quality, and takes initial action to resolve abnormal findings.
