The Behavioural Technician works directly with autistic clients of various ages and collaborates with their families and the Behaviour Consultant. The role implements individualized, evidence based programming designed by the Behaviour Consultant, supports skill development, collects accurate data and helps create a safe, positive and engaging learning setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- The ability to implement a client’s programs, collect data, and write daily notes.
- Unconditional positive regard for children and enjoy playing and interacting with clients to enable a positive learning experience.
- Provide trauma informed care. Work directly with the Behaviour Consultant.
- Daily cleaning tasks.
- Ability to work independently and in group settings.
- Following our policies and procedures. Demonstrate good work ethics and professionalism.
- Desire to engage in ongoing learning and being receptive to feedback and implementing
- Act as a camp counsellor during July and August for Camp Marvel.
Requirements
- Be at least 18 years of age.
- Must have experience with autistic individuals, facilitating ABA programs and data entry. - Post- secondary certificate, diploma or degree in human services or related field.
- Desire to work with clients on the Autism Spectrum of all ages.
- The position requires the BT to be physically active and engage with the clients (Eg. running, playing, walks to the park and ensure the safety of the client and others, always).
- Must have a clear criminal record check and vulnerable sector check.
- Valid driver’s license and vehicle.
- Bilingualism (French and English) is an asset.
- Experience in the field is required.
