Brand Ambassador – Food & Beverage Sampling

Forward Tasting is a growing Halifax-based experiential marketing company helping Canadian food & beverage brands connect with shoppers through fun, engaging in-store tasting experiences.

We're looking for friendly, outgoing Brand Ambassadors to join our growing team across the Halifax Regional Municipality (HRM).

If you enjoy meeting new people, discovering new food and beverage products, and can turn a simple sample into a great conversation, you might be exactly who we're looking for.

What You'll Do

As a Forward Tasting Brand Ambassador, you'll represent a variety of food and beverage brands at grocery stores, specialty retailers, and other events throughout HRM.

Your typical demo may include:

- Setting up a small tasting station
- Preparing and serving product samples
- Welcoming shoppers and starting conversations
- Sharing interesting information about the brand and product
- Answering shoppers' questions
- Encouraging shoppers to try the product
- Creating a positive, memorable tasting experience
- Packing up and returning demo equipment after the event
- Providing a short report with feedback and observations from the demo

No two demos are quite the same. One weekend you might be introducing shoppers to a new Canadian sauce, and the next you could be sampling a trendy beverage or specialty food product. You get to taste a lot of interesting products along the way, too!

Who We're Looking For

We're looking for people who are:

- Friendly, approachable, and comfortable talking to strangers
- Reliable and professional




- Energetic and positive
- Comfortable working independently
- Confident starting conversations with shoppers
- Interested in food, beverage, and discovering new products
- Comfortable standing and interacting with customers for several hours
- Able to represent different brands with enthusiasm and professionalism

Previous brand ambassador experience is not required. Experience in retail, hospitality, customer service, sales, marketing, events, or food & beverage is an asset, but we're more interested in your personality and ability to connect with people.

This can be a great opportunity for students, hospitality professionals, people looking for versatile supplemental work, or retired professionals who enjoy staying active and meeting people.

What You Need

- 19+ years of age (some events involve alcohol samples)
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver's licence
- Ability to transport demo supplies/equipment to and from locations
- Primarily weekend availability
- Comfortable working occasional 3–5 hour demo shifts
- Food Handler certification is an asset
- Smartphone for communication and submitting demo reports

Food Handler certification is not required to apply. Training can be provided when needed.



Compensation & Work Arrangement

$18–$20/hour, depending on experience and the specific assignment.

This is an independent contractor position. Ambassadors invoice Forward Tasting for completed work rather than being employees on payroll.

The work is flexible and occasional, with demos scheduled based on client needs and your availability. The right person may have the opportunity to work several demos per month.
