Business Centre Representative
Assist in running the Business Centre at two downtown Toronto conference hotels
Openings: One full-time permanent, one part-time
Schedule: Weekdays, 7:00 AM–7:00 PM, plus occasional evenings/weekends
About the role
You're the face of the desk — printing boarding passes for hotel guests, collating handouts before a 9 AM session, tracking down a shipment an exhibitor needs in the ballroom. Steady counter service most days, with pressure spikes around show move-in.
What you'll do
- Run the counter: greet guests/planners/exhibitors, quote price and turnaround, ring in sales, reconcile charges
- Handle print/copy/scan/laminate/binding jobs, including rush signage and name cards
- Receive, log, and deliver inbound packages; move freight by pump truck; prepare outbound shipments and customs paperwork
- Support hotel conference services and the in office crew during move-in/show days/move-out; flag oversized or complex jobs to the Operations Manager
- Cover both locations as scheduled; hand off cleanly between shifts
What we're looking for
- 1+ years customer-facing experience (hotel desk, business centre, print shop, or events)
- Comfortable on Windows and Mac, MS Office, PDFs
- Steady under deadline, accurate with numbers
- Available within the 7 AM–7 PM weekday window; can reach both properties
- Legally entitled to work in Canada
Helpful, not required: Adobe Creative Suite, wide-format print, pump truck/freight experience, courier/customs paperwork, tradeshow or hotel banquet exposure. Working conditions: On your feet at the counter and moving between the business centre, loading area, and meeting rooms; lifting up to ~50 lb.
