Magna Mining is looking for a Buyer to support the procurement and inventory needs of our growing Sudbury operations.

Working closely with Operations, Maintenance, Warehouse, Logistics, and suppliers, you’ll help ensure the right materials, equipment, and services are available when they’re needed — while balancing cost, quality, availability, and delivery.

We’re looking for someone who is resourceful, commercially minded, and knows how to turn operational needs into smart purchasing decisions.

What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll have the opportunity to:

- Procure materials, equipment, consumables, and services to support operational and project requirements.

- Obtain, evaluate, and negotiate supplier quotations with a focus on cost, quality, service, and delivery.

- Build strong supplier relationships, monitor performance, and resolve delivery, quality, and service issues.

- Create, issue, track, and maintain purchase orders within the ERP system.

- Manage supplier lead times, expedite critical materials, and help prevent disruptions to the operation.

- Work closely with Operations, Maintenance, Warehouse, and Logistics to understand upcoming requirements and maintain material availability.

- Manage inventory levels to support established minimum and maximum requirements while minimizing stockouts and excess inventory.

- Coordinate replenishment of critical materials,



consumables, and spare parts.

- Maintain accurate inventory records and data within company systems.

- Coordinate cycle counts and physical inventory activities.

- Identify opportunities to improve inventory management, warehouse efficiency, and material availability.

- Provide day-to-day direction and support to shipping and receiving activities.

- Promote warehouse organization, housekeeping, and safe material handling practices.

- Act as a key link between suppliers, procurement, warehouse teams, and end users.

- Maintain accurate procurement documentation, including purchase orders, approvals, contracts, and supporting records.

- Support compliance, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives across procurement and inventory activities.

Requirements

Who We’re Looking For

You might be a great fit if you:

- Have post-secondary education in Business, Supply Chain, Procurement, or a related field.

- Bring 2+ years of purchasing experience, ideally in mining, heavy industry, manufacturing, construction, or another operational environment.

- Understand procurement processes and are comfortable negotiating with suppliers.

- Have experience working with ERP systems and are proficient in Microsoft Excel.





- Understand inventory, logistics, and warehouse operations.

- Know how to balance cost, quality, availability, and lead time when making purchasing decisions.

- Are organized, accurate, and able to manage multiple priorities at once.

- Communicate well and can build productive relationships with suppliers and internal teams.

- Stay calm when priorities change and something needs to be sourced quickly.

- Understand total cost of ownership and look beyond the initial purchase price.

- Are comfortable reviewing technical specifications, drawings, and scopes of work.

- Have exposure to freight coordination and import/export processes — considered an asset.
