The City of Belleville is hiring a Wastewater Collections Locator for a temporary full-time position. This role focuses on the operation and maintenance of the wastewater collection system.
This position, reporting to the Environmental Services Department, requires knowledge of wastewater systems and effective customer communication. You will participate in leak detection efforts, underground locates, and the maintenance of storm and wastewater infrastructure, all while adhering to safety standards. Your expertise will directly support a clean and protected environment for Belleville residents.
Key Responsibilities:
• Locate and mark underground infrastructure per guidelines
• Maintain locates records accurately and comprehensively
• Support storm/wastewater collection system cleaning
• Assist with leak detection and customer concerns
• Participate in emergency response on a rotating schedule
Requirements:
• Two-year post-secondary education in relevant fields
• Valid Wastewater Collection Class 2 License required
• At least three years’ experience in a municipal setting
• Valid Class DZ Driver’s license
• Background check through Criminal Record Check
