TYPICAL HOURS OF WORK: 40 hrs weekly. 80 Bi-Weekly Flexibility required. Week nights (weekend flexibility required) Required to work Statutory Holidays.
DESCRIPTION OF CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support individuals to live with dignity, in line with the values and ethics of Community Living Cambridge
- To uphold confidentiality of all individuals
- To provide personal care support to residents during the night and morning routine.
- Provide morning care, assist with personal hygiene, feeing and dressing. To dispense medications, record attendance and fire check. Transport clients to day programs in the morning
- Health and Safety Representative for home
- Carry out resident programs and other duties as outlined in the job description
FORMAL EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- Sensitivity to and understanding of the needs and rights of person with developmental disabilities
- Previous experience working with people who have disabilities and behavioural issues will be an asset
- Teamwork, communication and good time management are important in this position
- Must be able to perform the essential duties of the job - SOME LIFTING MAY BE REQUIRED
- Must have a good/general overall work record with Community Living Cambridge
TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES: Valid driver's license
ATTENDANCE: Valuable Standing
BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES: Advocacy, Collaboration, Creative Problem Solving, Flexibility, Developing Others
