And that is something to be excited about!Your role and responsibilities:As a Software Developer on the Physical Architecture team, you will contribute to software projects that support cutting‐edge quantum architecture research. Code performance, ease of use, and ease of development will be improved through your work, accelerating the team in their mission to deliver architectures with as much noise tolerance and as low overheads as possible. Your contributions will shape the future of quantum computing.In particular, you will:Design, build, optimize, and maintain recent featuresWork closely with Physical Architecture researchers to determine upcoming needsRefactor existing code to unlock increased performance and speed of developmentEnsure high code quality by maintaining automated test coverage and extensive documentation, and participating in a dynamic code review processBasic qualifications and experience:BSc in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, Math, a related field,



or equivalent practical experienceProficiency in PythonProduct‐minded approach to software developmentSelf‐driven to deliver high‐quality solutions to stakeholdersAdaptable to rapidly evolving project needsEffective communication and collaboration skillsA desire to learn the fundamentals of a new field in order to tailor software solutionsWorking knowledge of best coding practices including unit testing, documentation, Git/GitHub, and CI/CD toolsPreferred qualifications and experience:Experience programming in lower level languages such as C/C++ or RustSome knowledge of quantum computing and/or quantum opticsExperience with scientific computing Python libraries such as NumPy, JAX, Numba, or CythonSome familiarity with quantum computing libraries such as Qiskit, PennyLane, or Cirq1+ years of industry experience in software developmentThis is for a new position. Your base salary will be determined based on your location, experience, and internal benchmarks. The base salary range is 110,000 - 130,000 CAD.
