We are now accepting applications for a full time cashier and a part time cashier position. The successful candidates must have at least 1 year experience operating a computerized cash register. Previous Co-op experience an asset. Cashiers are always in permanent contact with customers and their day to day duties involve the following (but not limited to):

~ Count floats in cash drawers at the beginning & end of shifts to ensure proper amounts are correct and there is adequate change.

~ Count inventory at the beginning and end of each shift for balancing purposes.

~ Greet customers entering the business

~ Answer customer questions and provide information on policies and procedures relating to the business or to the Co-op and its membership advantages.

~ Scan and control outgoing merchandise

~ Request for membership number to customer

~ Receive payments by method: cash, Visa, MasterCard, Amex, Debit, company charge card or company credit card and process accordingly

~ Issue change, receipts, refunds, post voids or reversal of payment method to customer

~ Resolve customer issues that may arise

~ Accurately record daily balance sheets of amounts for the following: Lottery, tobacco, cigars and cash drops for accounting purposes

~ Maintain a clean and orderly work and checkout area

~ Sell tickets to company sponsored events and other promotional items to customers





~ Preparing deposits (cash drops), closing the till and securing the float along with company assets

~ General maintenance: cleaning, dusting, sweeping, mopping, vending machine maintenance etc. ~Stock sales floor shelves and walk-in cooler ~Must be able to supervise up to 4 team members and work closely with them ~Excellent time management

Personal requirements: Friendly, outgoing, positive attitude, available for all shifts, we open at 6:00am, must have reliable transportation, must be able to work anytime on weekends without restrictions, stand for long periods of time, be customer focused, excellent communication skills both verbal and written, good with numbers, counting and have good math skills.

Pay: $16.50-$18.00 per hour
