Grande Spirit Foundation provides housing, quality care, and dignity to seniors and families within the Grande Prairie Region. As an essential service provider, we operate year-round to support our community.

THE ROLE

We are currently recruiting Casual Workers to deliver housekeeping, resident, and food services efficiently in senior housing facilities. This position must be willing to work on an "as needed" basis to fill various positions at Pleasant View Lodge in Spirit River when staff require time off or workloads increase. This position may also be required to fill in at other Grande Spirit Foundation locations as needed.

· Shifts: Must be able to work a variety of shifts from Monday to Sunday; morning, day, evening and night shifts, plus weekends/holidays. Shifts are typically 7.5+ hours.

· Perks: Shift differentials are paid for evening/night and weekend work!

KEY RESPONSIBILITIE & REQUIREMENTS:

· Knowledge: Knowledge of safe food handling, cleaning equipment and chemicals.

· Customer Service: A congenial personality who enjoys working with and for the elderly, and an ability to maintain a harmonious relationship with staff and the public.

· Communication: Valuable communication skills.

· Service Excellence: Patience, time management skills, and the ability to work independently.

· Physical Capability: Must be physically fit and be able to bend, lift and climb; good manual dexterity.

· Ability: Ability to stay calm in emergencies and be able to carry out responsibilities listed in the /duty list.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:

· Education: Completion of a high school diploma or equivalent is an asset.

· Experience:



Housekeeping & food services experience is an asset, but the willingness to learn will be considered (training shall be provided in such areas as housekeeping, residential services, and food services).

· Certifications: WHMIS, Food Safe, First Aid and CPR are assets, but willingness to train.

· Assets: A genuine interest and empathy for the care of seniors.

· Clearance: Ability to obtain a clear Vulnerable Sector Criminal Record Check is a requirement.

· Transportation: A valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation to/from work (as public transit to certain locations may be limited).

Must be willing to work: WEEKENDS, DAYS, EVENINGS, AND NIGHT SHIFTS.

(Along with shift differential paid for Evening, Night, and Weekend work)

STARTING HOURLY WAGES/RANGE: Casual Worker starting @ $22.35 per hour
