Rooted in social justice values, we believe that everyone deserves quality care, support and respect.Position SummaryKlinic community health physicians provide direct care to clients in Winnipeg, being seen for primary care, or to clients of our more specialised clinics, e.G. Gender‑Affirming Care, Addictions Treatment, STI, Pap. They may work with people of all ages, gender identities, sexual orientations, and ethnicities. Physicians at Klinic provide care at our family practice clinic and at times in other community settings. Physicians at Klinic work independently and as part of a team, recognising the impact of social determinants of health to the wellbeing of people and providing care within this context.QUALIFICATIONSMust hold a Doctor of Medicine DegreeThree years family practice experience preferredInterest and experience in community‑based medicineOpioid Agonist Therapy (OAT)
prescribing capacity required or must be willing to obtain an OAT licence at the earliest chance.Currently registered or eligible to be registered with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Manitoba, CCFP, or able to be registeredCurrent membership in the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA)Demonstrated ability to work as a member of a teamExcellent oral and written communication skills in English (additional language skills would be an asset)Pro‑choiceAble to communicate appropriately cross‑culturallyJob duties must be completed in EnglishRESPONSIBILITIESPrimary CareProvide primary health care in a community setting,May provide specialised services in refugee health, Gender‑Affirming Care, MWMS, latent TB, Hepatitis C, HIV and OATOpportunity to provide hospital inpatient care in partnership with physician colleagues, depending on skills and interest.Opportunity to participate in antenatal/intrapartum care depending on skills and interestMay provide home visits in the geographic community with Community Health NurseCollaborate with Primary Health Care Nurses, Nurse Practitioners, and all Klinic staffParticipate in case conferences; Provide in‑serviceeducation as requested; Documents accurateand pertinent client information in a timely manner,
