Tenure:Full-Time (Temporary to Permanent)Shift:Morning & Afternoon ShiftsPay Rate:$23.00 – $27.00 per hourPosition OverviewWe are seeking a hands-on and mechanically inclinedField Service Technicia n to join our growing team in Hamilton, ON. This role is responsible for the assembly, installation, commissioning, servicing, troubleshooting, and repair of heavy industrial equipment both in the shop and at customer sites across North AmericaThe ideal candidate will have experience in mechanical assembly, industrial equipment installation, pipe fitting, maintenance, or millwright-related work and must be comfortable traveling throughout North America to support equipment installations, warranty work, inspections, and customer service projects.Key ResponsibilitiesEquipment Assembly & InstallationRead and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, sketches, diagrams, and product specifications to determine assembly and installation requirementsAssemble and install heavy industrial equipment and systems according to engineering drawings and quality standardsFit and assemble simple and complex mechanical components and subassembliesInstall major equipment components including tanks, dampers, generators, structural frames, louvers, insulation systems, sound attenuation systems, and building panelsThread, fit, and install piping systems and pipe spools using assembly drawings and specifications.Field Service & CommissioningTravel to customer sites throughout North America to perform equipment installation, commissioning, startup support, inspections, troubleshooting, maintenance, repairs, and warranty serviceDiagnose mechanical issues and perform corrective actions to ensure optimal equipment performanceCommunicate with customers professionally and provide technical support during service visitsDocument service activities, repairs, inspections, and commissioning reports accuratelyMaterial Handling & RiggingAssist with rigging, hoisting, positioning,



and alignment of large equipment and subassemblies weighing up to 40 tonsSafely operate forklifts, overhead cranes, and other material handling equipmentLoad, unload, transport, and stage equipment and materials within the facility and customer sites while following established safety proceduresProvide feedback regarding equipment performance and potential design improvementsAssist supervisors and engineering teams with Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) and technical documentation updatesMaintain accurate records of service activities, inspections, and completed workSafety & ComplianceFollow all company safety policies, procedures, and OSHA requirementsParticipate in toolbox talks and safety meetingsConduct pre-use inspections of cranes, forklifts, power tools, and other equipmentMaintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment both in the shop and in the fieldQualificationsCompletion of an Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) apprenticeship is considered a solid asset2–10 years of experience in a heavy industrial, manufacturing, construction, mechanical assembly, millwright, maintenance, or field service environmentStrong mechanical assembly and troubleshooting experiencePipe fitting, industrial construction, equipment installation, or maintenance experience preferredAbility to read and interpret blueprints, assembly drawings, and technical specificationsExperience using hand tools, power tools, measuring instruments, forklifts, and overhead cranesStrong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in the fieldExcellent communication and customer service skillsValid driver's license requiredMust be comfortable traveling extensively throughout North America, including overnight and multi-day travel assignmentsAbility to work safely in industrial and construction environments and lift materials as requiredPreferred ExperienceIndustrial equipment installation and commissioningMillwright, maintenance, mechanical assembly, or field service experienceRigging and material handlingForklift and overhead crane operationMechanical troubleshooting and repairIndustrial piping systems and equipment maintenance#J-18808-Ljbffr
