Springcreek Cemetery Inc., a not for profit corporation is seeking a Full-Time General Labourer for Cemetery and Landscape Maintenance. This position is based on a 40-hour work week schedule Monday to Friday with occasional weekends. The successful candidate for this position strives to keep pace with the ever-changing service demands and is dedicated to meeting the expectations and requirements of our customers in a sensitive and professional manner.

Duties:

Participate in the burial process, including the preparation, set up and completion of burials.

Perform various cemetery landscaping and hardscaping duties around buildings, structures, monument foundations, roadways and general property. Landscape duties include but are not limited to: lawn maintenance, sodding, tamping, planting, weeding, watering, grave site restoration, leaf removal, snow removal etc.

Perform basic janitorial services in all common areas such as vacuuming, dusting, replacement of light bulbs, general housekeeping etc. to maintain our property facilities.

Operate and maintain motorized (utility vehicles) and small equipment (riding lawnmowers, trimmers, leaf blowers, gators, snow blowers, hedge trimmers).

Qualifications:

Minimum completion of Grade 12 education or equivalent





Valid Ontario G Drivers License in good standing and Clear Driver's Abstract

Backhoe operator experience an asset

Two years of experience in general light construction and/or landscaping

Physically able to do heavy lifting (up to 50 lbs.), bend, stoop, climb, reach and walk for prolonged periods of time with the ability to work from heights

Work in all weather conditions

Hands on experience and ability to operate a variety of grounds maintenance and landscaping equipment and operate vehicles

Customer service oriented to courteously interact with families or visitors on the property grounds

Must be fluent in English (oral/written)
