About the job Child & Youth Worker – Supporting Sexually Exploited Youth in Toronto HealthOPM is partnering with a Toronto-based non-profit organization to recruit experienced

Child and Youth Care professionals

to support adolescents impacted by sexual exploitation, gender-based violence, and complex trauma.

This program provides

24-hour residential care

for youth ages

12–17

and operates within a structured, trauma-informed treatment model. Opportunities are available across

day, evening, and awake overnight schedules , depending on operational needs and candidate experience.

Role Summary Practitioners in this program play a critical role in maintaining safety, consistency, and therapeutic structure for youth navigating significant emotional, behavioural, and psychosocial challenges.

While some team members focus on

direct care, engagement, and programming , others contribute through

awake overnight supervision and program continuity , ensuring a safe and supportive workplace at all times.

Location:

North York, Toronto

Compensation:

$21.15 – $32.47 per hour

Preferred Assets

Experience in residential treatment or youth shelter programs

Professional or lived experience supporting survivors of sexual exploitation or GBV

First Aid and CPR certification

Crisis prevention, de-escalation, or intervention training

Core Duties Based on assigned shifts, responsibilities may include:

Providing consistent,



trauma-informed supervision and care within a residential setting

Supporting youth with emotional regulation, routines, and daily living skills

Reinforcing individualized treatment goals and evidence-informed interventions

Completing shift documentation, safety checks, and program-related records

Participating in team communication and care coordination processes

Conducting overnight monitoring, wellness checks, and site supervision as required

Supporting general household readiness and operational needs of the program

Required Qualifications Diploma or degree in

Child & Youth Care (CYW/CYC)

or a closely related discipline

At least

one (1) year of experience

supporting youth with complex needs, including exposure to:

Sexual exploitation and/or gender-based violence

Trauma, homelessness, substance use, or high-risk youth populations

Residential care, shelters, group homes, or similar environments

Demonstrated understanding of trauma-informed and relational care approaches

Strong boundaries, emotional awareness, and professional self-care practices

Familiarity with crisis intervention principles

Commitment to equity-informed, anti-oppressive, and anti-racist practice

Pre-Employment Requirements Broad Record Police Check (BRC)

Police check results are reviewed in relation to role responsibilities; findings do not result in automatic disqualification
