Supervised Parenting Time Supervisor – York Region & Vaughan

Renew Supervision Services provides professional Supervised Parenting Time services to children and families involved in separation, divorce and other family transitions. Our Parenting Time Supervisors support safe, child-focused interactions between parents and their children while maintaining qualified boundaries and producing clear, objective documentation of each visit.

We are currently seeking an experienced, dependable and detail-oriented individual with a Child and Youth Worker background, or related experience, to join our team as a Parenting Time Supervisor in an independent contractor capacity.

Service Area In this role, you will provide Supervised Parenting Time services throughout York Region, with a particular focus on Vaughan, Richmond Hill, Markham, Thornhill, Aurora, Newmarket and surrounding communities.

Assignments take place primarily in family homes and community settings and are offered based on service needs, location and contractor availability.

Scheduling & Availability The length and frequency of assignments can vary considerably depending on the needs of each family. Some visits may be as short as 1–2 hours, while others may involve extended 6–8 hour assignments, particularly on weekends, holidays and during special family occasions.

Applicants should have flexibility to accept a combination of shorter weekday assignments and longer weekend or holiday assignments.

Typical service demand includes

- Weeknights between approximately 4:00 p.m. and 8:30 p.m.
- Saturdays and Sundays
- Occasional holidays and extended family visits

Employment Type: Independent Contractor Please note: This is not a full-time or permanent position. The number and length of assignments will vary based on client needs and contractor availability.

Compensation: $25.00 per hour

Responsibilities:

As a Parenting Time Supervisor, you will:

- Supervise parenting time between parents and their children in family homes and community settings, including parks, restaurants, recreational activities,



movie theatres and other appropriate locations.
- Maintain a neutral, professional and child-focused presence throughout each supervised parenting time session.
- Observe and objectively document interactions between parents and children.
- Prepare clear, detailed, accurate and professionally written case notes following each assignment. Documentation may be reviewed by clients, legal counsel or the court.
- Facilitate appropriate transitions and, when required, communicate relevant information following the visit.
- Remain calm and professional during emotionally charged or challenging situations.
- Recognize potential concerns and intervene appropriately when necessary to support the safety and well-being of the child.
- Apply sound judgment, initiative and problem-solving skills while working independently in the community.
- Establish and maintain appropriate professional boundaries with parents, children, caregivers and authorized third parties.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with families, colleagues and other involved professionals.
- Support parents, when appropriate, in identifying age-appropriate activities and strategies that contribute to positive and meaningful parenting time.
- Provide remote supervision through approved video-conferencing platforms when required.
- Follow Renew Supervision Services' policies, procedures and documentation standards.

Qualifications The successful candidate will have:

- A diploma or degree in Child and Youth Care/Child and Youth Work, Social Service Work, Social Work, Psychology, Behavioural Sciences, or a related human-services field, or comparable relevant experience.
- Experience working directly with children, youth and families.




- Demonstrated ability to write exceptionally clear, objective and detailed case notes and professional documentation.
- Experience supporting individuals who may be frustrated, confrontational, emotionally distressed or experiencing significant family conflict.
- Strong judgment and the ability to think quickly, calmly and rationally in challenging situations.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- The ability to remain neutral and maintain professional boundaries when working with families experiencing conflict.
- Experience working within an anti-oppressive, culturally responsive and inclusive framework.
- Experience working with diverse families, including newcomers to Canada and individuals for whom English is an additional language.
- Knowledge of community resources and supports.
- A valid driver's licence and reliable access to a vehicle.
- The ability to travel throughout the assigned service area.
- A satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC).
- A professional, approachable and emotionally resilient manner, with the ability to receive feedback and navigate difficult interactions without becoming reactive or defensive.

Job Types: Part-time, Casual Pay: $25.00 per hour
