Reg. 95/96, s.2; O. Reg. 209/03, s.1; O. Reg. 227/23, s. 3.Duties and ResponsibilitiesBe responsible for effective instruction, training, and evaluation of pupils’ progress in assigned subjects, and manage classes with reports to the principal as requested.Carry out the supervisory duties and instructional program assigned by the principal,
supplying information as required.Co‑operate fully with teachers appointed under Section 14 or 17 and with the principal on all instruction matters.Unless otherwise assigned, be present in the classroom or teaching area and ensure the area is ready 15 minutes before morning classes and 5 minutes before afternoon classes where applicable.Assist the principal in maintaining close cooperation with the community.Prepare teaching plans and outlines as required, submitting them to the principal or supervisory officer upon request.Ensure all reasonable safety procedures are carried out in courses and activities.Co‑operate with the principal and other teachers to establish consistent disciplinary practices.Ensure report cards are fully and properly completed and processed in accordance with provincial guidelines in English and French.Co‑operate and assist in the administration of tests under the Education Quality and Accountability Office Act.Participate in regular meetings with pupils’ parents or guardians.Perform duties assigned by the principal in relation to cooperative placements of pupils.Perform duties normally associated with the graduation of pupils.Application RequirementsApplicants must provide permission to contact two professional references, including their current and most recent supervisor.
