Overview

We're hiring Class 1 drivers for our South Division in Medicine Hat, hauling equipment and materials to and from our own project sites across southern Alberta.

Who we are

Weir Construction Ltd. is an Alberta civil and oilfield construction contractor with divisions in Grande Prairie and Medicine Hat. We build lease sites, access roads, pipeline right-of-way and earthworks for energy and municipal clients, and we run our own fleet. Our trucks move our own iron and materials, so you're hauling for a crew that's waiting on you, not for a broker.

Why drivers stay with us

You're driving equipment that our own shop maintains, on runs we control, for jobsites we run. That means no waiting at a customer's gate for a dispatcher who doesn't know you, and a fleet that doesn't put you on the road with a defect you flagged yesterday.

What you'll be doing

- Hauling heavy equipment on lowboys and step-decks, plus gravel, pipe and materials on end-dumps and flat-decks
- Loading, securing and unloading in accordance with cargo securement rules
- Pre-trip and post-trip inspections, and full logbook or ELD compliance
- Working with site supervisors and operators on delivery timing and site access
- Basic tarping,



chaining and load planning
- Reporting defects and keeping the unit clean

What we need from you

- A valid Alberta Class 1 licence with air brake endorsement
- A clean driver's abstract (three-year commercial abstract required on offer)
- Experience hauling heavy equipment or aggregates; oilfield or construction preferred
- Legal entitlement to work in Canada
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test
- Willingness to work long days in season
