Job SummaryWe are seeking an Equity Research Analyst to provide deep fundamental research and actionable investment insights that support the portfolio management process. The successful candidate will work closely with the Portfolio Manager to identify high-quality investment opportunities, conduct rigorous bottom‑up analysis, and contribute to portfolio construction and risk monitoring within our investment policy framework.ResponsibilitiesConduct independent, in-depth fundamental research on global equities to identify high-quality companies and generate long-term investment ideas.Support the Portfolio Manager in the construction and management of portfolios by providing data‑driven recommendations on security selection, position sizing, and conviction levels.Monitor existing portfolio holdings and sector exposures, ensuring investment theses remain intact and identifying potential risks or catalysts.Perform detailed financial modeling and valuation analysis (DCF, multiples, etc.) to assess the intrinsic value and risk‑reward profile of prospective and current investments.Participate in investment meetings, presenting detailed research reports, attribution analysis, and proposed changes to portfolio weights.Translate complex research findings into actionable insights, assisting the Portfolio Manager in refining investment strategies and rebalancing decisions.Analyze portfolio risk parameters, including factor exposures and single-name concentration, to ensure alignment with mandate guidelines.Collaborate on the development of research and portfolio management tools, such as valuation screens, monitoring dashboards, and watchlists.Contribute to the preparation of internal and client-facing materials, including strategy updates, performance attribution,
and ad-hoc investment analysis.Ensure all research and investment activities comply with the firm’s policies and regulatory requirements.RequirementsUndergraduate degree in finance, economics, business, mathematics, engineering, or related quantitative fields; a graduate degreeis anasset.Minimum three years of experience in equity research, investment analysis, or buy‑side portfolio support roles.Strong understanding of equity valuation, financial statement analysis, and portfolio construction, ideally within a value‑oriented philosophy.CFA charterholder or progress toward the designation is strongly preferred.Superior oral and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex investment rationales.High degree of attention to detail and robust organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple research projects simultaneously.Proficiency in Excel and financial databases/research platforms.Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a small, high‑performing investment team.Fluent in English and Mandarin.About RichlineRichline Capital is an asset management firm founded in Toronto, Canada.
