Commercial Cleaner — Evenings and Sundays

Sona Cleaning Services Inc. · St. John's · Part time, about 14 hours per week · $19 to $20 per hour The most important thing we are looking for is someone who shows up. We are a small company. When a shift gets missed, the owner cleans the building herself. If you treat a scheduled shift as a commitment and you have the attendance record to show it, we want to hear from you and we will pay accordingly.

Sona Cleaning Services is a St. John's commercial cleaning company. We clean office buildings and businesses, not houses. We are looking for one experienced commercial cleaner to take on a two-building contract, with more hours available as we grow.

The schedule

- Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings after tenant hours, about 3 hours per shift, at a multi-tenant office building in central St. John's
- Sundays, about 5 hours across two office buildings in St. John's. Sunday timing is flexible and can be daytime.
- Minimum 3 hours paid on every shift
- Same sites, same days, every week. Steady and predictable, not on-call.

The work Washrooms cleaned, disinfected and restocked. Garbage collected from tenant units. Floors swept, mopped and vacuumed. Hallways, stairwells, entrances and elevator areas. One or two units given extra attention each visit, so every unit is covered over the course of a month. All doors confirmed secured before you leave. Through the winter, salt and slush lifted off the entrances at every visit.

What we are looking for

- A strong attendance record. Evenings and Sundays are the core of this job, not the exception.

- Experience cleaning commercial or office space, not residential only
- Two references from cleaning work, from a supervisor or a client whose building you cleaned. Personal or character references will not do.

- A reliable vehicle and valid driver's licence. The two buildings are a short drive apart.
- Someone who works well alone and unsupervised, and can be trusted with keys and alarm codes
- A clear criminal record check, as you will hold building access

- Able to be on your feet, use stairs, and lift bins and equipment

What we offer

- $19 to $20 per hour depending on experience
- Properly on payroll with WorkplaceNL coverage and vacation pay. No cash work.
- All equipment, cleaning products and supplies provided

- Direct contact with the owner. You are not phoning a head office in another province.
- First call on additional hours as we take on new contracts, and a wage review at 90 days
- Notice-based time off.
