Who We’re Looking For Beyond Group is looking for an experienced Commercial Estimator to join our team, with a primary focus on commercial spray foam insulation.

We’re looking for someone who understands commercial construction, can confidently work through drawings and specifications, and has the estimating experience to become productive quickly.

You’ll work alongside an established estimating and operations team, identifying opportunities, completing detailed takeoffs, developing accurate pricing and helping carry projects from tender through to a successful handoff to operations.

While commercial spray foam will be the primary focus of this position, Beyond operates across several specialty construction scopes. Experience with fireproofing or firestopping would be considered a strong asset and may provide opportunities to work across multiple areas of the business.

You’ll be joining an established team with experienced estimators and operations professionals, while having the opportunity to develop expertise across multiple specialty construction scopes as your role grows.

What You’ll Do

Estimating & Tendering

- Review drawings, specifications, addenda and tender documents
- Complete detailed quantity takeoffs for commercial spray foam projects
- Develop labour, material, equipment and other project costs
- Prepare accurate and competitive estimates and proposals
- Identify scope requirements, exclusions, clarifications and project risks
- Review architectural,



structural and mechanical details relevant to our scope
- Manage multiple tender opportunities and submission deadlines
- Participate in estimate reviews, tender closings and project negotiations

Customers & Business Development

- Communicate directly with general contractors regarding scope, pricing and project requirements
- Identify opportunities and follow up on upcoming commercial projects
- Build and maintain relationships with general contractors, suppliers and industry partners

Handoff & Continuous Improvement

- Complete thorough project handoffs to operations when work is awarded
- Maintain current pricing, assemblies and historical costing information
- Review completed project performance to continuously improve estimating accuracy
- Support estimating across additional Beyond scopes as experience and opportunities allow

What We’re Looking For The ideal candidate will have:

- Previous commercial construction estimating experience
- Strong ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
- Experience completing detailed quantity takeoffs
- An understanding of commercial construction processes and tendering
- Strong numerical and analytical skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlines
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Confidence communicating with general contractors, suppliers and internal project teams
- The ability to work independently and take ownership of opportunities from initial review through tender
- Robust computer skills and the ability to work with construction and estimating software

Direct experience estimating commercial spray foam insulation would be strongly preferred.

Additional Experience We’d Value

We’re particularly interested in candidates who bring experience in more than one specialty construction scope. Experience with any of the following would be considered an asset:

- Spray-applied fireproofing




- Firestopping and passive fire protection
- Commercial insulation
- Intumescent coatings
- Building envelope systems
- Other commercial specialty trades

A candidate with commercial spray foam experience combined with fireproofing or firestopping knowledge would be especially valuable as we continue building greater technical and estimating depth across our teams. What Success Looks Like For us, estimating isn’t simply about getting a number out the door.

A strong estimator understands what we’re being asked to build, identifies risks before they become field problems, develops accurate pricing and gives our operations team a clear scope to execute when the project is awarded.

We’re looking for someone who can bring experience to the team, take ownership of their estimating responsibilities and become a reliable resource for both our customers and our operations team.

What We Offer

Compensation range of $75,000–$100,000 per year, based on industry experience. We offer a number of extra benefits as listed below, but they may be subject to a probationary waiting period.
