Adjuster II (Property) – Permanent, Full‑time position located at Saskatoon Property Claims. Pay Range: $70,095.00 - $88,456.00. Closing date: June 15, 2026.ResponsibilitiesAdjust a wide range of complex property claims, collecting, reviewing, investigating, and analyzing claims information and interpreting applicable acts, regulations, and policy coverages to negotiate settlements.Conduct or direct site visits to determine the scope of damage or loss, which may require the use of a ladder.Submit assignments to vendors for repairs and/or inspections.Set up claim files, determine cause of loss, establish reserves, and complete all required claims reporting forms and documents.Use software and applications to complete claims reporting forms and submit required documentation.Determine coverage and/or validity of claims through policy wordings and related regulations.Explain coverages, benefits, breaches of condition, and exclusions to customers, brokers, or other parties as required.Contact and interview other personnel, brokers, customers, witnesses, third parties, outside adjusters, contractors, repair firms, police and fire departments, legal representatives, medical professionals, or other external persons as necessary.Obtain statements under oath, proofs of loss, medical reports, non‑waiver agreements, final releases, salvage releases, and other documents related to settlement and disposition of claims.Create and adjust estimates using estimating software, alter vendor‑submitted estimates when needed, and apply applicable coverages such as limited replacement cost for roofing materials.Respond to questions and/or correspondence regarding the status and disposition of claim files.Determine actual cash value and/or replacement cost of customers’ articles.Maintain claims records and files in an orderly, current manner in accordance with departmental, divisional,
and corporate procedures.Refer suspicious or large‑magnitude claims to the proper level of authority for assistance.Assess degree of negligence and the extent of quantum in liability or bodily injury claims.Determine possibility of subrogation and take appropriate action.Negotiate settlements with customers and/or representatives.Prepare claim files for legal action, further investigation, and review by other personnel, and/or deny claims.Reconcile invoices against estimates of damage or loss and process accounts and expenses for payment.Represent the corporation in Small Claims Court and/or other judicial or regulatory bodies.Attend road assignments and adjust claims arising at a distance from headquarters when required.Hire, oversee, ensure the quality of work, and evaluate the performance of vendors and contractors.Participate in the review and development of new products, procedures, and programs.Obtain insured approval and process requests for payments from vendors.Engage appropriate expertise when needed to assess risk and coverage application per company guidelines.Maintain ongoing customer contact throughout the claim process, which can range from a couple of months to a couple of years.Identify salvage opportunities, determine value with the salvage department,
and coordinate sale to customers or third parties.Maintain relationships with broker partners and vendors to promote trust and confidence in claims processes.Explore and present new information from industry sources to streamline and improve internal processes.Deliver a seamless experience for customers from claim reporting to settlement.Identify opportunities to improve the claims experience and seek solutions while adhering to company guidelines.Support a culture of leadership and accountability, apply continuous learning, and advocate change with a growth mindset.Technical Knowledge & SkillsAdvanced knowledge of insurance coverages, advantages, and policy wordings for national property claims.Advanced knowledge of insurance theory and principles related to claim adjustment and settlement.Advanced skills in determining values, depreciation, repair, or replacement costs, including estimating systems and imaging appraisals.Proficient knowledge of customer service initiatives and application of customer‑centric decision making.Proficient understanding of residential, agricultural, and commercial building construction.Proficient knowledge of agricultural equipment mechanics and operation.Proficient knowledge of applicable policies for residential, agricultural, and commercial properties and equipment in the assigned region.Education & CertificationsTwo‑year diploma from an accredited post‑secondary institution in a relevant field such as Business or related equivalency.Valid driver’s license, where required.Experience3‑5 years of experience, including at least two years of property adjusting and one year of insurance‑related experience.Behavioral CompetenciesAccountability – Goes beyond basic expectations to implement customer/partner focused solutions.Business Acumen – Applies business fundamentals and thinks in future‑oriented terms.Change Agility – Is nimble; shifts gears quickly and comfortably.Leadership – Leads self and others.#J-18808-Ljbffr
