Wage reviewed at least annually and increase possible with positive performance.Position SummaryReporting to the CEO/General Manager, the right candidate is responsible for day-to-day farm operation that includes but is not limited to the coordination, assignments and supervising of pork production technicians and hog farm workers in the sow barn at Morris Piglets North.DutiesCoordinate, schedule, assign and supervise the work of pork production technicians and general hog farm workersSupervise, coordinate and oversee breeding programsSupervise, monitor and enforce procedures to maintain animal welfareSupervise,
oversee and order feed inventorySupervise maintenance of infrastructure, equipment, and supplies on the farm locationDevelop work schedules and establish proceduresEnsure farm safety, food safety and security and bio-security procedures are followedMaintain quality control and production recordsMay perform breeding activitiesMay perform pork production technician and general hog farm dutiesMay operate farm equipmentMay operate and repair digital technology and communication tools and equipment, such as barn ventilation systems.RequirementsProven experience in a supervisory role in hog operations, preferable in sow barnsFamiliar and experienced with daily sow barn tasks, including breeding, farrowing, maintaining production records, operating and maintaining hog farm equipmentExcellent interpersonal skillsExcellent communication in the English languageHigh school completed, completion of post‑secondary education in pork production is an assetStrong problem‑solving skills as well as ability to work independently and part of a teamSome weekend and holiday work may be required#J-18808-Ljbffr
