Siltech Corporation, a Canadian owned global provider of organo-functional silicone specialties, is looking to hire immediately a full time, permanent Pipefitter/Welder for our current Fort Erie Plant. This position is responsible for welding plant equipment safely and to engineering specifications. Performs other maintenance duties to support maintenance team as required.Main DutiesCompletes piping and equipment installationsWelds, threads and pipe fits in the shop and in the fieldWelds pipe supports to structural steel membersTests and performs quality control on pipe systemsMaintains equipment so it is available for production when requiredWorks with contractors on required project activitiesBuilds and installs required upgrades as defined by engineeringRecommends changes/upgrades to management for implementationAssists the maintenance supervisor in managing the spare parts inventoryIs an integral part of annual maintenance shutdown activitiesCollaborates with other workers to implement projectsKnowledge RequiredMust possess current welder/pipe fitter license (Red Seal)Applicable welding certificationsUnderstands use of lifting and hoisting devices – chain blocks, etcExperienced with process and utility piping installationsTIG, MIG, and Stick Welding abilities for stainless steel and carbon steel systemsField welding and installation focusedTSSA certified to weld piping systems. ASME B31.1 and ASME B31.3 Piping CodesLayout experience for pipe routing from P&ID’s and/or isometricsStrong interpersonal and communication skills3–5 years’ experience preferably in a Chemical Plant with confined space entries#J-18808-Ljbffr
