Construction Site Superintendent

Large-Scale Multifamily Residential Construction

Polaris Builders is seeking an experienced Construction Site Superintendent to lead the field operations of large-scale multifamily residential construction projects. This full-time leadership position is responsible for overseeing all on-site construction activities, coordinating trades and subcontractors, maintaining project schedules, ensuring quality standards, and promoting a culture of safety excellence. The Superintendent will work closely with the Project Manager and project team to successfully deliver projects on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

Project Leadership & Site Management

- Lead and direct all daily construction activities on site from mobilization through project completion.
- Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, suppliers, consultants, and site personnel.
- Develop and maintain short-term and long-term construction schedules in collaboration with the Project Manager.
- Monitor project progress and proactively identify and resolve scheduling, quality, and productivity challenges.
- Conduct regular site meetings and coordination meetings with trades and project stakeholders.
- Ensure project milestones and deadlines are achieved while maintaining budget objectives.
- Manage site logistics, material deliveries, equipment utilization, and workforce planning.
- Complete daily reports, site documentation, progress photos, deficiency tracking, and field reports.

Quality Control

- Ensure all work is completed in accordance with contract documents, specifications, drawings, and applicable building codes.
- Conduct ongoing inspections to verify workmanship and compliance with project requirements.




- Coordinate deficiencies and corrective actions with subcontractors.
- Support project closeout activities, occupancy requirements, and warranty processes.

Safety Leadership

- Lead by example and foster a strong safety-first culture across all project sites.
- Conduct regular site safety inspections and toolbox talks.
- Ensure compliance with all provincial, municipal, and company health and safety regulations.
- Investigate incidents, near misses, and safety concerns, implementing corrective measures as required.
- Coordinate safety documentation, orientations, and required regulatory reporting.
- Ensure all personnel and subcontractors adhere to site-specific safety plans and procedures.

Communication & Reporting

- Maintain clear communication with Project Managers, consultants, owners, inspectors, and subcontractors.
- Provide regular project updates regarding schedule, manpower, safety, and quality.
- Participate in construction meetings and support project planning initiatives.
- Document and communicate site issues, delays, and potential risks in a timely manner.

Qualifications & Experience

- Minimum 5 years of superintendent or supervisory experience on large-scale multifamily residential projects.
- Strong knowledge of wood-frame, concrete, and mixed-use construction.
- Proven ability to lead trades, manage schedules,



and maintain quality and safety standards.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Experience with construction management software is an asset.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required.
- Project location - Banff, AB. Bow Valley candidates preferred; qualified Calgary-area applicants will also be considered.

Preferred Certifications

- First Aid / CPR Certification
- WHMIS Certification
- CSTS, OSHA, or equivalent construction safety training
- Fall Protection Certification
- Gold Seal Certification (asset)
- LEED experience (asset)
