Responsibilities:

With a focus on supporting clients to improve their nutrition status and promote their rehabilitation, the Registered Dietitian will:

· Prepare comprehensive nutrition assessment reports based on client interview, physical assessment, review of accident/medical history and interdisciplinary reports and findings.

· Develop plans of care and engage clients and families in their homes and in the community to provide nutrition education and counselling.

· Work collaboratively with clients, families, caregivers and interdisciplinary rehabilitation teams. Teams may include, but are not limited to: case managers, physicians, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, social workers, speech-language pathologists, rehabilitation support workers, personal support workers and legal representatives.

· Prepare and submit nutrition treatment plans to insurers.

· Schedule and manage appointments with clients.

· Develop and adapt educational materials and tools as needed.

· Perform regular, timely charting compliant with standards set out by the College of Dietitians of Ontario.

· Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings.

· Prepare monthly invoices for incurred time and expenses.

Requirements:

The Registered Dietitian must:

· Have a degree in food and nutrition, dietetics, nutritional science or human nutrition from an accredited university.

· Be a member in positive standing with the College of Dietitians of Ontario.





· Have current liability insurance compliant with the standards set out by the College of Dietitians of Ontario.

· Hold a valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation.

· Have a personal computer, telephone and access to secure internet.

Qualifications:

To take on the role of Registered Dietitian, you must:

· Be passionate about your profession and committed to ongoing professional development.

· Have a minimum of five (5) years of experience in direct client care (experience working with clients with acquired or traumatic brain/orthopedic/spinal cord injuries is an asset).

· Possess excellent nutrition assessment skills and use sound clinical judgement.

· Demonstrate experience in development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of nutrition care plans.

· Have experience working effectively with culturally and economically diverse populations.

· Be self-directed with excellent interpersonal, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

· Thrive in an ever-changing environment with strong time management and organizational skills.

· Use effective verbal and written communication skills. Second language is an asset.

· Demonstrate personal and professional integrity.

· Be able and willing to work flexible hours.

· Be proficient with the use of a computer and software programs including Microsoft Word and Excel, email and internet.

Pay: $45.00-$70.00 per hour
