One of our manufacturing clients is looking for a Contract Administrator lcoated near Hamilton, ON location
Pay - $85 $95K
Key Responsibilities
- Review, draft, revise, and negotiate construction contracts, purchase orders, and other legal documents to identify and mitigate contractual risks.
- Work closely with Canadian Sales and Operations teams to ensure contract scope, pricing, and obligations accurately reflect the original bid and project requirements.
- Negotiate contract terms and conditions with General Contractors, Consultants, Project Managers, and legal representatives.
- Resolve contractual issues and negotiate fair, commercially reasonable outcomes while protecting the company s interests.
- Build and maintain robust business relationships through professional, knowledgeable, and balanced negotiations.
- Develop and standardize contract templates, procedures, and negotiation processes to improve consistency and efficiency.
- Ensure clear alignment between the scope of work, contract terms, change orders, supplementary conditions, amendments, and project responsibilities.
- Identify potential contractual gaps, inconsistencies, and areas of risk and recommend appropriate solutions.
- Monitor changes in applicable laws, regulations, and industry practices that may affect existing or future contracts.
- Conduct contractual and legal research as required.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support successful project execution and contract compliance.
- Manage multiple priorities and deadlines while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
- Support the company s vision and uphold its core values in all business activities.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in contracts management, with construction industry experience strongly preferred.
- Strong understanding of contract law, construction contracts, contract drafting, and negotiation.
- Bachelor s degree in Business Administration, Law, Construction, Engineering, or a related field; equivalent education, training, and experience will also be considered.
- Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to draft and amend contractual and legal documents clearly, accurately, and concisely.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to interpret complex contractual information.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, analytical, problem-solving, and research skills.
- Ability to quickly understand new concepts, construction terminology, and project requirements.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
