This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Contract Clinical Diabetes Specialist based in Canada. This role combines clinical diabetes expertise with territory-based sales and education to support people living with diabetes and the healthcare professionals who care for them.

You will promote insulin pump therapy and related clinical services across the Ottawa/Kingston territory, with travel to Peterborough as needed.

Working remotely, you will build trusted relationships with physicians, nurses, dietitians, pharmacists, diabetes educators, and other healthcare professionals.

You will use your clinical knowledge to deliver education, support product adoption, troubleshoot challenges, and strengthen customer relationships.

The position also plays an important role in achieving territory sales goals through strategic account development, prospecting, and collaboration with sales partners.

You will contribute to diabetes education initiatives, market insights, business planning, and ongoing customer support in a fast-moving healthcare workplace.

This is a full-time fixed-term contract role suited to a clinically experienced skilled who enjoys combining patient education, relationship building, and commercial impact.

Accountabilities

You will manage clinical and commercial activities across an assigned territory, helping healthcare professionals and people with diabetes understand and effectively use insulin pump therapy while supporting territory growth and customer retention.

- Manage the assigned territory to achieve or exceed established sales objectives.
- Develop strategies to address clinical needs and support the adoption and retention of insulin pump products and services.
- Identify qualified sales opportunities using available tools, resources, and prospecting information.
- Build and maintain strong professional relationships with physicians, registered dietitians, nurses, certified diabetes educators, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals.
- Deliver clinical education on insulin pump therapy, diabetes self-management, emergency management, community resources, and advanced diabetes management skills.
- Schedule and conduct pump training sessions for people with diabetes and healthcare professionals.
- Explain product capabilities, clinical benefits, healthcare trends, web-based solutions, and relevant outcomes to customers and referral sources.
- Provide one-on-one coaching and troubleshoot clinical or technical customer challenges.
- Collaborate with sales and technical support teams to address post-sale issues and identify additional education needs.
- Partner with territory and regional sales leadership on account strategies, forecasting, and short- and long-term business planning.




- Share relevant clinical trends, customer insights, and best practices with the regional sales team.
- Represent products and services at health fairs, conventions, trade shows, symposia, and promotional activities.
- Maintain accurate customer and business information in CRM systems and complete required sales and clinical reports.
- Establish an efficient territory call cycle that maximizes time spent with customers and prospects.
- Participate in sales meetings, training programs, team calls, and other required professional development activities.
- Manage company equipment, records, selling materials, samples, and business expenses in accordance with established policies.
- Complete all required training before assuming full job responsibilities.

Requirements You should bring a strong clinical foundation in diabetes care, excellent communication skills, and the ability to translate complex clinical and technical information into practical guidance for diverse audiences. Experience working directly with patients and healthcare professionals, combined with an ability to operate independently in a territory-based environment, is essential.

- RN, RD, RPh, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience.
- Current registration and licensure maintained through appropriate clinical education.
- Certified Diabetes Educator designation strongly preferred.
- At least 2 years of clinical diabetes experience coordinating and delivering diabetes education programs.
- At least 1 year of relevant industry experience preferred, particularly in diabetes or endocrinology.
- Ongoing education and knowledge of insulin pump therapy, including technical use and therapy-specific considerations.
- Strong knowledge of diabetes self-management, including insulin pump dose adjustment, blood glucose monitoring, carbohydrate counting, medication management, infusion site management, chronic complications, emergency management, and community resources.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to educate and influence different audiences.
- Ability to build effective relationships with customers, referral sources, and healthcare professionals.
- Ability to serve as a clinical resource for regional sales teams while following established protocols.
- Solid one-on-one coaching and customer support skills, including the ability to resolve product-related questions and issues.




- Ability to present educational material clearly, concisely, and professionally.
- Strong organization, collaboration, follow-through, and contribution to team initiatives.
- Calm, confident, and adaptable approach when responding to changing situations.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving healthcare and commercial environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and internet-based tools; CRM experience preferred.
- Ability to work remotely from a home office and travel throughout the assigned territory at least 80% of the time.
- Valid driver's license, required auto insurance, and a good driving record in accordance with applicable policies.
- Must be legally authorized to work for any employer in Canada without current or future employment visa sponsorship.

- Base salary of C$98,000–C$122,000 annually.
- Target total earning potential of C$128,000–C$152,000 annually.
