The role is offered on a 6-month term basis. The candidate will be responsible for preparing and processing accounts receivable and payable transactions. The candidate will be responsible for creating, inputting, updating, and maintaining various paper and electronic records. The candidate will be responsible for responding to records management problems, researching solutions, recommending improvements, and training staff on best practices. The candidate will be responsible for liaising with the Records Storage Contractor to manage retrievals and entry of files into archive. The candidate will be responsible for monitoring records throughout their entire life cycle based on retention schedules, including handling confidential information and document destruction.
The candidate will be responsible for entering development bylaws and maintaining City of Kelowna Bylaw records and systems. The candidate will be responsible for coordinating delivery of notices to the public as required under legislation. The candidate will be responsible for preparing correspondence and submission of summaries for Public Hearings/Meetings. The candidate will be responsible for collecting tenders and recording packages received in accordance with legislative requirements. The candidate will be responsible for providing administrative and clerical support, including backup to other departmental clerks. Job Requirements
The candidate must have completed high school or possess an equivalent qualification. The candidate must have relevant administrative or clerical experience. The candidate must demonstrate strong attention to detail and organizational abilities. The candidate must demonstrate strong computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
