Home: Shelburne Long Term CareLocation: Shelburne, ONHourly Wage: $24.75Position: Personal Support Worker (PSW)Status: Part Time – 2:00pm-10:00pmReports to:Director of CareThe Personal Support Worker provides direct personal and nursing care to residents, fulfilling their physical, intellectual, emotional, social, and spiritual needs in accordance with home policies, procedures, and work routines.Key ResponsibilitiesAssists in providing direct care for residents and helps with ambulation, feeding, bathing, and grooming.Encourages participation in activity programs by assisting residents to and from activities.Assists with meal service and nourishment delivery, providing feeding assistance as needed.Provides emotional and social support to residents/families, including palliative care.Adheres to departmental policies and procedures regarding documentation, quality assurance, fire, safety, setting, and infection control.Consults with and informs the supervisor about unit activities, needs, and matters related to resident care.Participates in care conferences and documents resident care plans.Knowledge And Skills RequiredCompleted a PSW Program of at least 600 hours in duration recognized by the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities,



the National Association of Career Colleges, or the Ontario Community Support Association.Experience in long‑term care (asset).Knowledge and experience in care‑planning systems and documentation.Mental and physical ability to perform duties as assigned.Ability to communicate positively with staff, residents, and families.Demonstrates empathy, concern, and interest in providing quality care and service.Demonstrates organizational skills and completes assignments in a timely manner.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Ability to provide resident care in accordance with legislation, job routines, nursing care plans, and to read/write English and understand verbal and written instructions in English.Additional Requirements IncludeA negative vulnerable sector check completed within six months of the start date.Completion of a 2‑step TB skin test within the last 12 months before the start date.Southbridge welcomes applicants with disability‑related needs and offers accommodation during the recruitment process.
