Magna Mining is looking for a Coordinator, Training to support the development and competency of our Operations and Maintenance teams.

You’ll combine your underground experience with hands-on training, coaching, and competency assessment to help our people build the skills they need to succeed.

What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll have the opportunity to:

- Coordinate and deliver classroom, practical, and field-based training for Operations and Maintenance personnel.

- Develop and maintain training schedules to support operational requirements.

- Ensure refresher and recertification training is completed within required timelines.

- Coordinate external training providers where required.

- Conduct practical and theoretical competency assessments.

- Verify employees have demonstrated the knowledge and skills required before being deemed competent.

- Assess employee capability following training, equipment changes, procedural updates, or extended absences.

- Provide coaching and development recommendations where additional support is required.

- Maintain accurate competency records and qualification matrices.

- Support, mentor, and audit Peer Trainers to ensure consistent, quality training.





- Observe field training and provide constructive coaching and feedback.

- Identify training needs and competency gaps with supervisors and department leaders.

- Develop and contribute to individual and departmental training plans.

- Support succession planning and employee development initiatives.

- Develop, review, and improve training materials, lesson plans, assessments, and practical evaluations.

- Incorporate lessons learned from incidents, audits, and operational changes into training programs.

- Maintain accurate training records within the LMS and other training databases.

- Track mandatory regulatory and company-required training.

- Prepare reports on training completion, competency, overdue training, and workforce capability.

- Support internal and external audits related to training and competency management.

Requirements

Who We’re Looking For

You might be a great fit if you:

- Have a Grade 12 education or equivalent.

- Have post-secondary education in a related field — considered an asset.

- Hold a Train the Trainer or equivalent adult education certification.

- Bring 5+ years of underground mining experience.





- Have experience delivering practical and classroom training.

- Have experience assessing employee competency.

- Understand adult learning principles and know how to adapt your approach to different learners.

- Have solid coaching, facilitation, planning, and organizational skills.

- Can objectively assess employee capability and provide constructive feedback.

- Have experience with Learning Management Systems and training documentation.

- Communicate effectively and build positive relationships at all levels of the organization.

- Are proficient with Microsoft Office and Learning Management Systems.

- Understand applicable health and safety legislation and training requirements.
