For over 50 years, Shindico has acquired, developed, owned and managed commercial and multifamily real estate across Manitoba. We are a locally owned and operated company that is vertically integrated across real estate with several divisions: property management, development, brokerage, construction, and advisory. We are seeking the following full-time permanent position to join our team:

Corporate Controller

We are hiring an accounting qualified into our Leadership Program in our corporate group. Reporting to the VP, Accounting & Technology, you will train through the full financial engine of one of Manitoba's largest private real estate portfolios.

Your first years are spent inside the accounting group with a focus on corporate accounting, monthly financial statements, consolidations, banking administration, and budgets. This role will also oversee a small team responsible for the Accounts Payable functions.

As you demonstrate capability, your responsibility widens into lender relationship management, reporting, and financing execution, capital forecasting, cash management, tax and corporate structure work with our external advisors, and ownership-level reporting.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

- Preparation and review of financial statements and working papers across a large corporate group of companies;
- Prepare consolidations and year-end files for external accounting engagements;
- Review and approve GST filings and corporate payments;




- Build budgets, cash-flow forecasts and lender reporting packages;
- Support financing transactions: due diligence, draw packages, covenant reporting;
- Leveraging AI to improve the efficiency of the business.

You should possess the following key skills and attributes:

- CPA designation;
- Roughly 3–8 years of accounting or finance experience; real estate experience an asset, not required;
- Strong Excel and systems skills; able to learn Yardi quickly;
- Strong Microsoft office skills are mandatory, experience using AI tools an asset;
- Above average problem-solving skills and the ability to build and implement solutions;
- Strong interpersonal skills and a positive and proactive attitude;
- Judgment, discretion and a strong work ethic - this is a private, entrepreneurial company and this role necessitates trust and dedication;
- Based in Winnipeg or committed to relocating.
