CrossFit Coach — Part-Time

Location: Etobicoke, Ontario.

Employment Type: Part-Time Contractor.

Compensation: $25+ per hour, based on experience and qualifications

About CollectiveFit

CollectiveFit is a community-focused fitness facility in Etobicoke built around helping people become healthier, stronger, and more confident for life.

Our community is welcoming, beginner-friendly, and focused on sustainable health and fitness rather than competition. We primarily serve general fitness and health to members, with a strong emphasis on creating an environment where every member feels supported, motivated, and successful.

We’re looking for a CrossFit Coach who genuinely enjoys working with people and understands that great coaching is about much more than leading a workout.

The Prospect

We are looking for an energetic, personable, and reliable CrossFit Coach to join our coaching team on a part-time basis.

The ideal candidate is a confident communicator and excellent movement coach who can make beginners feel comfortable, help experienced members continue progressing, and create an inspiring experience every time someone walks through the door.

This is a hands-on coaching position with opportunities to coach group classes, personal training, and Foundations sessions.

You should be someone who brings great energy to the room, pays attention to the details, and genuinely cares about the people you coach.

Key ResponsibilitiesCoaching

- Lead safe, engaging, and effective CrossFit group classes.
- Provide clear demonstrations, coaching cues, and movement corrections.
- Scale workouts appropriately based on individual fitness levels, abilities, experience, and limitations.
- Coach beginners with patience and confidence, creating a positive first experience with CrossFit.
- Help members develop sound movement mechanics and build confidence in their abilities.
- Provide appropriate modifications and progressions to help members train safely and effectively.
- Deliver personal training sessions based on individual member goals.
- Lead Foundations sessions and help new members understand the fundamentals of CrossFit and functional fitness.
- Create an energetic, motivating, and inclusive class environment.

Member Experience & Community:
- Build genuine relationships with members and contribute to a strong sense of community.
- Know members by name and understand their goals, challenges, and progress.




- Motivate and inspire members while meeting them where they are in their fitness journey.
- Help members feel welcomed, supported, and accountable.
- Contribute to member retention by delivering an exceptional coaching experience.
- Participate in gym events, community activities, and initiatives.
- Represent CollectiveFit professionally both inside and outside the gym.

Gym Operations:
- Arrive prepared and on time for all scheduled shifts.
- Open and close the facility when required.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and skilled training environment.
- Ensure equipment is used safely and returned appropriately.
- Communicate effectively with the CollectiveFit team regarding member needs, concerns, and opportunities.
- Support the team in creating an exceptional overall member experience.

Required Qualifications:
- Minimum CrossFit Level 1 certification — required.
- Minimum 6-12 months of coaching experience.
- Current CPR and First Aid certification.
- Minimum age of 18 years old.
- Legally authorized to work in Canada.
- Strong verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with members.
- Ability to coach and scale movements appropriately for different fitness levels.
- Ability to work independently and take responsibility for assigned shifts and duties.
- Reliable, punctual, professional, and detail-oriented.
- Comfortable working with beginners and general fitness populations.
- Willingness to provide coaching background.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build meaningful relationships with members.

Preferred Qualifications Additional certifications or education are considered an asset, including:
- CrossFit Level 2 or higher.
- Personal Training certification.
- Olympic Weightlifting certification or experience.
- Gymnastics certification or experience.
- Strength & Conditioning education.
- Kinesiology, Exercise Science, or related education.
- Nutrition or health-related education.
- Additional coaching or fitness certifications.

Competitive CrossFit experience is not required. We are more interested in your ability to coach, communicate, connect with people,



and create an excellent member experience. The Person We're Looking For:

Compensation & Schedule:
- Part-time contractor position.
- 10+ hours per week, with potential for additional hours.
- $25+ per hour, based on experience, qualifications, and coaching ability.
- Opportunities to coach group classes, personal training, and Foundations.
- Flexible scheduling based on gym needs and coach availability.
