Title: Cryptography & Network Architect

Duration: 1 year, with the possibility of a one-year extension

Location: Hybrid - 2701 Riverside Dr. Ottawa, ON K1A 0B1

Scope The Manager, Cryptography and Network Security Architect leads the clients cryptographic strategy, quantum-resilient security and enterprise network protection. This role designs secure solutions, establishes cryptographic standards and provides technical leadership across architecture, cybersecurity, network and engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities

- Design secure cryptographic, network and application architectures.
- Establish standards for encryption, PKI, certificates, HSMs and key lifecycle management.
- Secure cloud, on-premises and distributed environments using TLS, IPSec, VPNs, firewalls, segmentation and zero-trust principles.
- Serve as the cryptography subject-matter expert for major initiatives and system transitions.
- Conduct architecture reviews, threat modelling and security-risk assessments.
- Guide teams on secure implementation patterns and compliant network configurations.




- Monitor emerging threats, standards and post-quantum cryptography developments.

Required Qualifications

- Post-secondary education in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Mathematics or a related field.
- Five to eight years of relevant IT or cybersecurity experience, including at least three years in cryptography.
- Enterprise experience as a Security Architect, Solution Architect or similar.
- Solid knowledge of encryption algorithms, PKI, key management, certificates, HSMs and secure authentication.
- Deep understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, routing, segmentation, TLS, IPSec, VPNs, firewalls, IDS/IPS and zero trust.
- Experience designing secure cloud, hybrid, on-premises and distributed systems.
- Knowledge of AES, RSA, ECC, SHA-2/3, threat modelling and secure-system design.

Preferred Qualifications

- Master’s degree or other graduate-level education.
- CISSP, CISM, CISA or an equivalent certification.
