Position Summary

Interior Health is seeking a medical microbiologist to join its regional team in September 2027. The team provides consultation to four microbiology laboratories in Kelowna, Kamloops, Trail, and Cranbrook, as well as to a large regional network of infection control practitioners. In this role, you will participate in the oversight of regional laboratory services, including bacteriology, mycology, and molecular testing. You will also contribute to clinical consultation and oversight for the regional Infection Prevention and Control (IPAC) program and share in a clinically oriented on-call service with six microbiologists. The ideal candidate will have experience in bacteriology, mycology, molecular testing, and IPAC. Solid interpersonal skills will support effective collaboration with regional administrative, hospital, infection control, and laboratory staff. Qualifications
