Duties
- Safely operate commercial vehicles to deliver goods to various locations, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
- Load, unload, and organize freight using forklifts and other heavy equipment with precision and care
- Inspect vehicles regularly for mechanical issues; perform basic automotive repairs as needed to ensure optimal performance
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, inventory records, and shipping documentation to support efficient warehouse management
- Assist in warehouse organization by stocking shelves, sorting freight, and preparing shipments for dispatch
- Conduct safety checks on equipment such as forklifts and heavy machinery before use
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to coordinate delivery schedules and resolve any logistical issues promptly
Skills
- Proven experience operating forklifts, freight handling equipment, or heavy machinery in a warehouse setting
- Valid driver’s license
- Knowledge of automotive repair basics to troubleshoot minor vehicle issues during deliveries or maintenance checks
- Ability to lift heavy loads safely and work in physically demanding environments
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for inventory management and documentation
- Excellent communication skills for coordinating with team members and ensuring customer satisfaction
- Commitment to safety protocols and adherence to all transportation regulations
- Handyman skills are an asset.
