The ideal candidate will have a strong background in concrete work, including finishing, forming and installation. The Concrete Finisher will smooth and maneuver freshly poured concrete to meet client and contract specifications, including application curing or surface treatments of concrete materials to install, maintain, and renovate various structures while adhering to safety standards.Key ResponsibilitiesChecking formwork,
granular base and steel reinforcement materials and directing placement of concrete into forms or onto surfaces according to grade to meet client specifications.Filling hollows and removing high spots to smooth freshly poured concrete.Operating power vibrator equipment to compact concrete.Levelling top surface of concrete according to grade and depth specifications using straightedge or float.Imparting desired texture and finish to concrete surfaces using hand and power tools.Installing anchor bolts, steel plates, door sills and other fixtures in freshly poured concrete.Applying hardening and sealing compounds to cure the surface of concrete.Waterproofing, damp-proof and reconciling broken concrete surfaces.Repairing, resurfacing, and replacing worn or damaged sections of floors, walls, roads and other concrete structures.May be required to direct the work of other construction workers to achieve the desired outcomes of the job.Key QualificationsHigh school diploma; 2–4-year apprenticeship, or 3+ years’ directly related experience in cement finishingExperience working in a fast-paced work environmentCapable of handling/lifting heavy loads (more than 100 lbs)Capable of carrying out repetitive activities in a physically demanding work environmentAttention to detail in manual dexterityWorking under pressure to meet client deadlinesHave valuable hand-eye co-ordination and sound discriminationLanguage: English (minimum CLB 4)RequirementsBasic ToolsSteel-toed safety bootsRain GearGlovesOn-site amenitiesWorker housing can be provided for right candidateCompany eventsWellness program (after probationary period)Deferred profit-sharing plan (DPSP) (after the probationary period)Wage range: $25 - $32/hour (plus potential for performance-based bonus or wage increase)#J-18808-Ljbffr
